Lenny Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 I’m new and trying to find a club and I have a question. What is Heike-Ryu Jiu Jitsu? I’ve searched and I can’t really find a definition of that style. I know Jiu Jitsu is a grappling style but what does the Heike-Ryu indicate? How does it differ from BJJ? I’m looking at a school that combines Judo with Heike-Ryu Jiu Jitsu, is that at good thing? Thanks for you help.
Shane Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 I had not heard of this particular form of Jujitsu but that means nothing, I found a web site http://home.earthlink.net/~heikeryu/ If I was you I would check it out and see if they offer a free class and take it. There are so many versions of Jujitsu in the world today and every Instructor is different so the only way to determine if it is a good school with a good Instructor is to go check it out yourself. Dont pay to much attention to a name, pay attention to the quality of Instuction you yourself recieve and then go from there. GOOD LUCK A True Martial Arts Instructor is more of a guide than anything, on your way to developing the warrior within yourself!!!!!
Kreisi Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 maybe you should make a websearch about it What hurts you but doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.
Lenny Posted December 2, 2004 Author Posted December 2, 2004 maybe you should make a websearch about it I did and nothing very definitive came up.
