evan90
I started Eugue Ryu karate about a year and a half ago, but quit to get my life in order, then i joined again. So i've been in it for about five or six months now, and my yellow belt test is coming up in January. My advice to anyone starting Karate: hang in there, after a while the sport becomes an addiction! vertigo
Joined my university's karate club about 2.5-3 months ago, and enjoy it a lot. Don't quite know why I started , but really glad I did. Test for 8th Kyu on Monday! Can't wait! (even though a little nervous, of course ) "Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go." - T. S. vertigo
well... i passed, kinda Got semi-8th, but no complaints here. Really happy though, re-worked my schedule so I can still train somewhat. My schedule got set up this semester so I can't train with the university club ( ), but I'm going to take an intermediate karate course taught by my same sensei through the university... so now I get credit for training ah! that reminds me... assuming I prepare enough for the next test, would I be testing for full 8th kyu? or 7th kyu? Kaminari
Joined in '99 and stopped in 2000 for several years, but I'm getting back into it. Joined for self defense, confidence, and a healthy hobby. I can't believe I've been out of it for so long and can't wait to start up again (not starting over, I'll be at green, which is 4th Kyu I believe). smr
I've been training for a little over two years. I'm currently out for injury, but I've been practicing kata on my own time ... against my doctors advice. I don't work it too hard though. I'm simply trying to keep the kata fresh in my head and not get too lazy. Matsumura Seito Shorin-Ryu
intraining
Hi there. I started Goju Ryu in September of this year, and I can't believe how much I enjoy it. We live in a very small town and our dojo is very small as well (in the adult class there are two sensei's, a brown belt, an orange belt and myself) and the classes were very inexpensive. So, since I always thought it would be kind of neat to learn, I signed myself up for the first month just to see how it would go. I'm now 4 months into it, I have three stripes on my belt and am loving every minute of it. I'm generally able to go 4 hours a week, which is just great and there is a lot of individual attention with such a small class. Now there is myself, my 10 year old daugher and my 5 year old son signed up. I'm still working on my hubby, but I'm hopeful he'll sign up soon.
