miguksaram Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 my bro would like some but i need to know were to find some and how much they cost before christmas. Are you looking for traditional or sport kamas? It takes a big man to cry, but it takes an even bigger man to point at him and laugh
username4 Posted November 8, 2004 Author Posted November 8, 2004 some thing you could really use to hurt/kill a person. example: thug, mugger rapist, burgerler. not that he would, mind you hes just kinnda always wanted kamas like that.

Ummm...I would recommend getting your brother therapy for Christmas. Seems he needs that more than kamas. It takes a big man to cry, but it takes an even bigger man to point at him and laugh
tommarker Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 It sounds like he wants functional kama. What's wrong with that? Aside from the fact that investing in a shotgun would be better I'm no longer posting here. Adios.
username4 Posted November 9, 2004 Author Posted November 9, 2004 well i think he just wants them for a decoration and to show off to his friend that he is dangerous and skilled with kamas
Sauzin Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 Um...I would suggest either a wooden or non-functional (not sharp) pair. Bleeding never seems to impress friends that you are dangerous to anyone but yourself. And it's a hard way to learn. Toys are ment for what you are describing (hanging on walls and showing off to friends). The only two things that stand between an effective art and one that isn't are a tradition to draw knowledge from and the mind to practice it.

Aside from the fact that investing in a shotgun would be better It sounded more psychotic than practical. You can always go to Century marital arts for some wooden or traditional kamas. Shorin Ryuu Posted November 10, 2004 Posted November 10, 2004 I think having functional kama is pretty important if you want to understand how to truly use the weapon. While I don't advocate practicing on people, cutting should be practiced on small branches, leaves, grass, cardboard boxes, etc. The kama is meant to slice using the curvature of the blade, as opposed to simply hacking. A lot of people do kata with the kama and simply "hack" at the air as opposed to manipulating them the way they should really be used. Practicing cuts are a good way to see if you are doing it right. Of course, a good instructor would help... Martial Arts Blog:http://bujutsublogger.blogspot.com/
