The Saint
I guess the bully could dish it out, but couldn't take it when it comes back at him. Funny how what goes around, comes around. Taku-Shimazu
You did well, this guy was obviously just a thug and he will learn alot from this, or maybe he will just bother someone else? Anyway always hit people that hit you first. The cool summer breeze passes me by.

yamesu
Anyway always hit people that hit you first. prob' not the best advice.................. you said you felt regret? think about that. hitting someone in vengance is not at all the best answer. ShotokanKid
Yes, I was a white belt. I'm still in elmentrary lol. Grade 8. Im gettin my yellow belt next week. And this fight was a few days before school ended. Grade 8 is still elementary?? That's my grade and that's JR. High in Japan and in America. What age are 8th graders. Don't worry about doing the right thing that's already gone. Just worry about next time doing the right thing. "What we do in life, echoes in eternity.""We must all fear evil men. greenbelt_girl15
I think I agree with yamesu. If you are attacked defend yourself only to the point where you can make an escape. don't keep your anger bottled up though, that will almost definitely lead to you blowing up at the bully. Try writing a letter to the bully telling him how upset his words and actions make you and then tear it up and throw it away.Or just find some other creative way of releasing your anger so that it doesn't build up inside of you. Okay I know that this ridiculous but it's the way I was raised, if you feel regret you might want to consider saying your sorry to the bully and asking for forgiveness. You might get laughed at but I think it would make you feel better. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of love, a spirit of power, and of self-discipline.2 Timothy 1:
A. Orstrom
I think you did the right thing. You defended yourself to the point where he was no longer a threat and then you took off. It was a wise choice to run afterwards. You put yourself out of the conflict and ended it. Running is good. lilsempai
Er... I know this isn't constructive but before starting Karate I stabbed someone with a biro so hard it drew blood... He leaves me alone now. Still feel bad about it but you can't dwell - the martial arts gave me confidence to argue rather than fight the next time round, I won. Good luck + stuff.
