TKD_McGee Posted January 5, 2002 Posted January 5, 2002 I wonder if there are any statistics that can tell if Jiu-Jitsu membership went up after the movie, The Matrix was released. Many young people join martial arts for stupid reasons like; I saw it on Tv! or I saw it on a video game! Do unto others, as they done to you.
Aikidoka Posted January 5, 2002 Posted January 5, 2002 But if they join the martial arts for "stupid reasons" and then reap many benifits, is that not a positive thing? The more people who's lives are improved by martial arts, the better.
Jiggy9 Posted January 5, 2002 Posted January 5, 2002 But those people dont always hang around for too long.... 'You know' they say, 'it's not what I expected'... Shotokan Karate Black Belt ==Defend the path of Truth==
Jack Posted January 5, 2002 Posted January 5, 2002 lol, I started Martial Arts after first playing Shenmue. I've reaped so many other benefits from it however. JackCurrently 'off' from formal MA trainingKarateForums.com
TKD_McGee Posted January 7, 2002 Author Posted January 7, 2002 It depends on the person. If the person is serious and dedicated they will continue. On the other hand if they joined because of a video game and take it lightly they wont last long. Do unto others, as they done to you.
Jack Posted January 7, 2002 Posted January 7, 2002 I'm serious and dedicated now, its just I wasn't really aware of the martial arts until I saw it in films and videogames. Of course, I am far more determined about the martial arts now JackCurrently 'off' from formal MA trainingKarateForums.com
