What would you call middle and highschool wrestling?

I'm in my high school's wrestling team, and it think it's just called High School Wrestling because there are restrictions and certain rules that don't apply in freestyle wrestling, but it is pretty much freestyle wrestling because u can attack below the belt, and in High School Wrestling it is important that when u throw an opponent u have to go down with them or else the refree will consider it a slam and u will most likely get disqualified, but some referees let it go.

in greco roman you cant shoot legs for takedown. or anything under the waist

I've always thought that HS wrestling was modified freestyle. The modified part takes out the more dangerous moves. I have never heard the term "folk".

Old thread. Anyway, yes... it is freestyle wrestling, with modified rules. Some school districts have also restricted the use of certain moves, due to insurance purposes.
