parkerlineage Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 That's one of the great things about AK - you can change it to what suits you best. Seeing as I'm not capable of providing enough power to kill people with one strike, I hit them with three really fast hits that provide the same result.I will pm, you, Kajukenbopr.Peace;Parkerlineage American Kenpo Karate- First Degree Black Belt"He who hesitates, meditates in a horizontal position."Ed Parker
wingedsoldier Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 yeah, i don't pack a lot of raw power, not that a punch from won't do any damage, but i'm not a big guy with niether large muscles or lots of bodyfat so you won't see me benching 150. but i can move fast, and that speed and momentum makes up for my lack of strength. and no matter big you are, fast, solid strikes to your neck, throat, diaphragm, and groin is still going to hurt.
Kajukenbopr Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 doesnt hurt to train for power though.....mix speed with power and you've got a killer combo <> Be humble, train hard, fight dirty
BLueDevil Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Im pretty new and it just so happens ive been looking for a good kenpo forum! i posted my lineage in my signature, ive been learning for about a year now and we also put much emphasis on katas and not wasting movement There is no teacher but the enemy.

BLueDevil Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 yeah, when we first sign up my Sifu tells people you wont get alot out of your training unless you work at home, and I actually started with a partner from work so we get together pretty often to practise techniques There is no teacher but the enemy.
Enviroman Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 I've just started studying Kosho Shorei Ryu Kempo. The Lineage is supposedly James M. Mitose's family to Bruce Juchnik. I am learning from 2nd gen Juchnik...
