judoguy Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 When you guys/gals where taught grappling for the first time did your instructor put emphasis on techniques or a set of principals that underline the technique. Or was it a combo of both? I'm only going to ask you once...
goshinman Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 I learned the technique in it's most basic form first and then the principals behind it. The principal of a techniques is what makes it work against a resisting opponent vs a static opponent who is not fighting back. I know that you should know that one Steve. Tapped out, knocked out, or choked out...Take your pick.http://jujitsu4u.com/http://www.combatwrestling.com/http://gokor.com/
judoguy Posted October 22, 2004 Author Posted October 22, 2004 Interesting that you know my name since I didn't include it in my bio. Where do I know you from? I'm only going to ask you once...
goshinman Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 It's Danale from the old R.O.F dojang. Remember the nhb contests they used to hold every friday night? Tapped out, knocked out, or choked out...Take your pick.http://jujitsu4u.com/http://www.combatwrestling.com/http://gokor.com/
judoguy Posted October 22, 2004 Author Posted October 22, 2004 I'll be a monkey's uncle! Whats up dude? I haven't heard form you since forever, what have you been up to and how is your knee doing? I'm only going to ask you once...
goshinman Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 The knee is fine. I've just been training and working. Still trying to get in with a P.D but no one is hiring right now because of the budget cuts so I just have to wait and see. Hey man what ever happend to R.O.F? I drove by there one day a few months ago and the building was closed down and it didn't have a sign up that said they had relocated or anything. Tapped out, knocked out, or choked out...Take your pick.http://jujitsu4u.com/http://www.combatwrestling.com/http://gokor.com/

Hang in there bud, I think I heard that LAPD is getting ready to start hiring again and so is the Orange county sheriffs department. As for your question about ROF I have no idea what happened. I guess they didn't have enough students to keep that building, you know that rent in arcadia is expensive as hell. Not to many Taekwondo/hapkido guy's trained as hard as they did so I guess it was hard to convert new mcdojang types to full contact training. Still studying japanese jujitsu I see. I don't know why you still waste your time with that . You are pretty good though . Edited October 23, 2004 by judoguy I'm only going to ask you once...
judoguy Posted October 23, 2004 Author Posted October 23, 2004 (edited) You want to get together and catch up? Maybe roll a little? I enjoyed toying with you. Edited October 23, 2004 by judoguy I'm only going to ask you once...
Beiner Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 Were taught technique, and only go untill there person taps. Were also told that on the streets tepping means nothing, and that if the person is trying to take your lif, feeel free to break his arm.
