Flying Tiger
What are some good methods to improve the power of my knee attacks? Anything--solo drills, weight training, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. The greatest clarity is profound silence. SevenStar
bag work. pad work. make sure your form is correct. make sure that you are using your hip properly - extending it forward, turning it over, etc, depending on which type of knee you are doing. Is there any specific type of knee you are curious about, or just knees in general?
Vito
strong lower abs, the ones you get doing leg lifts, sure wont hurt.... Flying Tiger
Any type of knee, but what is the "proper form" for knees? Is a front knee like a front kick, but you don't extend your leg after chambering (using the chambered position as the attack)? The greatest clarity is profound silence. SevenStar
once again, it depends. The form for a long knee differs from a short knee, side knee, jump knee. slap knee, etc.
Flying Tiger
I really just wish to know about a basic front knee and a round-house styled knee (where it comes from the outside and comes in, as if I'm going for the ribs) The greatest clarity is profound silence. SevenStar
the long knee depends on drive from the hips. shoot the hips forward. keep the foot ointed, not flexed. you should raise on the ball of the supporting foot. the round knee is dependent on hip rotation. I see that you don't train muay thai... talk to your instructor. TSD may knee in a different fashion.
