Zhong Gau
mentereligius: just do the twist. Edited December 12, 2004 by Zhong Gau Ah! Mantis Grasshopper, i think you would do very nicely on a bowl of rice!
Red J
basically, leopard is as aggresive as tiger, but will give up powerfull strikes and stable stances for more explosiveness and faster/more strikes. The Leopard that I know likes angles, can hit in transitions and in motion, is a multiple and quick striker but not as powerful as Tiger, favors the leopard paw to soft tissue areas like the ribs, armpits, biceps, etc., slips punches and blocks using strikes. I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.
Zhong Gau
Another note on leopard style: sure looked good on shania twain. Edited December 12, 2004 by Zhong Gau Ah! Red J
I would like to see that. Yes, the animal emphasizes closing distance quickly. I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.

Kaminari
My top favorite is Dragon, but I do like Tiger for it's power and Crane for it's gracefulness. I would be studying one of the above, but I don't believe there are any dojos that teach them in my area.
law hon gung
Zhong Gau I trained with Lau cheng (Shi Gong Cheng) in san fran, shi gong of seven animal style,on a side note,I dont think panther was ever a legitimate style on its own and most shaolin animals were mixed with other animal movements and noone of them were of pure animal styles on there own,tiger/crane or mantis/monkey which I disagree with, each animal has its own distinct way of moving which could confuse someone that may practice a style such as cobra or crane which have also been mixed in the past, not saying its wrong, just not of pure art style. Shane
Since I dont train an animal style and never have, I'm going to say my favorite animal style to watch (I have only seen a few demonstrated) is Monkey style, very strange but neat. P.A.L
I practice Okinawan Shorin ryu , there are several katas that are related to white crane, this is beside original shuri-te katas , seems to be a family style created and developed in okinawa by Matsumura. they call them Hakutsuru. could you give me some info about white crane kung fu and connection between white crane karate and chinesename boxing. these are the of the katas I know in white crane Ni ju ken tsuru ken shorinji sanchin ..... I have to say the idea and aplication of white crane in karate is in a higher level compares to normal shuri-te. I also practice sanchin (from Naha-te , the sensei miagi version) but i think shorinji Sanchin is the most advanced version of sanchin i've ever seen. thanks.
