MenteReligieuse Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 My favorite would have to be Mantis, because of the lightning quick strikes and counters, good use of vital points (those little mantis hooks!) and I beleive it to be quite an aggresive style yet leaves very litte openings in your defense.
MenteReligieuse Posted October 13, 2004 Author Posted October 13, 2004 yeah well there is a max limit of options you can put in a poll.... I also left out 1000 bees, pheonix, scorpion, centipede and what not! hence, the "Other" option.
Red J Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 I like leopard for the following reasons: Fits my body type uses angles quick multiple strikes and kicks can hit in motion soft targets (ribs, neck, joints, etc) builds agility and speed I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.
Hudson Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 Dragon forms are my favorite. Dragon usually encompasses animals like tiger and snake, and is what I call a "smarter" kung fu. The game of chess is much like a swordfight; you must think before you move.
47MartialMan Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 I have heard, that not anyone can practice a specific animal style due to physique and body developments. However, I cannot pick one, but six, for each I have a appreciation for. Tiger, Snake, Crane, Dragon, Mantis, and Monkey
KungFuMan Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 Might as well go for the highest level one in the list and that is the Dragon. The Dragon exponent possesses incredible internal energy and can "disappear" and "appear" before you (complex and advanced footwork) and then he will hit and that will be THE END. KFM Only time and commitment will make your Traditional "style" good and give you real knowledge. "Marry" your chosen system as opposed to just flirting with it. Make it your partner for life and you will see how well and how complete it really is.
siufeifei Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 I think i can name the book from which you got that. ohayo gozaimasu, o genki desu ka.
KungFuMan Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 I got that from what my sifu who told me about the Dragon concepts and who also demonstrated some Dragon movements. Having said that, I have read about the Dragon in various magazines and would like to read more about this style. Please name me the book, and tell me if you think it is worth buying.
