foreveryoung001
I'm not a doctor, but I play one on the radio. Your high school guidance counselor might be able to help you if no one here has any info for you. Student: "Why did you hit that guy with a chair? Why didn't you use your karate?"Master: "Hitting him with a chair was the only karate I could think of at the time."Lesson: Practice until you don't have to think. battousai16
i wanted to be a doctor for a while. on career day in my highschool, you have to call in a person from your desired occupation and interview them. mine said i would never make it into the med school program. although brutally frank and a bit rude, she's probably right, and it saved me a bit of time. so uh... i guess the point is know what you're getting into. battousai16
"why did she say that you would't become a doctor?" i think more than anything she recognized that my desire to be a doctor really wasn't a passion as much as it was just an option that i might enjoy; thus, i wouldn't be able to compete with the passionate people. Drunken Monkey
i think it's important that you ask yourself why you want to do something. never befraid to ask why and never be afraid to change your mind. the worst thing is spending 7 years studying for something, working for another 10 ten realising on the eve of your 40th birthday taht maybe you made wrong choice about your career. BUT now you've got a wife, a child in school and another on the way, a house to pay for and regular bills; you might not be able to take a few steps back without turning your world upside down. esp. with something like medicine. once you go down that route, there aren't many ways to change without starting anew and that is a very tough burden on those around you as well as on yourself and your mind. this is something that's always on my mind. by the time i'm fully qualified/certified, i'll be about 30, then i'll be working properly. i'm kinda lucky that once i'm qualified i'm pretty free to do what-ever i want within the design world but it's still a big commitment on my part and if i wasn't at least 95% sure, i wouldn't have started. post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite."
