Angus Posted December 30, 2001 Posted December 30, 2001 Heh, i don't know how some people do their backfists, but i put my whole mody into it, and can still twist my hips into it... The strike is so fast due to that fact. More often than not i still do crosses and hooks though. Angus Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear.
thaiboxerken Posted December 31, 2001 Posted December 31, 2001 Overhand right is my most power punch with the hook being a close second. The Thai round kick is the most powerful kick and it can be thrown in rapid succession. Just kick 'em, they'll understand.- Me Apprentice Instructor under Guro Inosanto in Jun Fan Gung Fu and Filipinno Martial arts.Certified Instructor of Frank Cucci's Linxx system of martial arts.
Punchdrunk Posted January 2, 2002 Posted January 2, 2002 Three jabs off a hook These are all excellent suggestions. I was recently on the receiving end of a well executed flying knee to the chest and ribs. I didn't know I could hurt that much. Hooks are great, particularly if they've been set up with an uppercut. Whether your opponent has been hit or is leaning back to avoid the uppercut, they're chin is hanging right out there for that hook to finish the job. Counters when your opponent is coming forward are always powerful. Even a front kick to the gut can be a knockout shot when they walk right into it.
