here's a thought.

did bruce lee find weaknesses in chinese martial arts in general, or did he find weaknesses in his own martial arts (skill)?

i mean, there were plenty of people at his wing chun school that he wasn't able to beat, even after his JKD.

so if chinese martial arts had weaknesses and his JKD sought to remove them weaknesses, why did he still lose to his seniors?

just so you know, chuck norris was a black belt winning competitions before bruce lee trained with him.

dan inosanto was proficient in many styles way before bruce lee trained with him.

bruce lee did not always get into brawls on the street (he spent most of the time running away after not being able to keep his big mouth shut).

there is only one story of him in a rooftop fight and he only 'won' by a lucky shot.

he did not do wushu.

Amen.

I don't know much about Chuck Norris, to be honest. Wish I did.

Jackie Chan seems quick. Besides quickness, does he really have anything? Looking at his movies, and from what I've heard of his training, at best he's a falshy fighter with no real substance. Is he good? Yeah. Has he really mastered himself? No.

Bruce Lee . . . . . not that I'm some "Bruce Lee was a god" person, but I thought he was good. Admittedly not from research, just listening to people. I want to hear where ovine king got that info from, to be honest.

Jet Li. He honestly hasn't impressed me. Worse, my laoshi was giving us a talk about nurtuing yourself instead of pushing so hard you injure yourself and heal weaker than you were, and he mentioned that he had met Li once while Li was making a movie. He said that Li constantly had to go offstage and get his back worked on because he could barely walk after going through some of the fight scenes. I don't call that someone who has learned to fight well.

again, most of what i know comes from stories.

there's an interview floating around the internet in which some of yip man's senior students were asked about the young bruce lee and they gave simple answers that fit in with what i know life was like in hk at the time.

here's where i point out that the story of his lucky win was his first try at one of the rooftop fights.

as far as i'm aware, there are no other references to fights that have been confirmed by a 'non-bruce lee fan' source.

don't get me wrong, i'm not saying he wasn't any good, just that he's not the god that too many people who only read john little books think.

earth is the asylum of the universe where the inmates have taken over.

don't ask stupid questions and you won't get stupid answers.

Bruce would win of course, :) :) I meen yes the other fighters are good but they are good mostly in one style of martial arts just shown in differant ways. Bruce lee on the other hand studied and mastered Wing lam kungfu and took all the strong points and componets from many othe styles like karate, :karate: Tai chi , TKD, and wing lam kungfu for examples. and also many punching componets from american boxing and maid them one affective style of matial arts that has HARDLY ANY WEEKNESS. :o knowone else has done that.

So that is why I say bruce Lee. :karate: :karate:

PEACE :karate: :brow: :D :) :P

well I already saw in Return of the Dragon that Bruce Lee beat Chuck Norris by a long shot, so there ya go...I would give it to Chuck Lidell.

When a man has lost his luck, he meets a beautiful woman.
