GoGoGo Posted October 3, 2004 Posted October 3, 2004 Who would you say is/was the best martial artist out of these? Learner GoGoGo
Ravencroft Posted October 3, 2004 Posted October 3, 2004 Well lets see, Bruce Lee is dead so not him, Chuck norris is friggen old so hes out, jackie chan is too nice so hed probably lose. So who does that leave? i dont know who would win, this has to be like the 20 millionth time historic and present fighters have been compared to each other.

battousai16 Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 YES! finally someone sees it my way! take THAT, kchenault! i think the last time someone asked this question, it was decided that the spectators won. but yeah... my votes still on batman "I hear you can kill 200 men and play a mean six string at the same time..."-Six String Samurai
Both Worlds Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 well to see that evryone picked Brue Lee is ashame because it is not true if you think about it The many styles that Jet Lee Knows compared to Bruce Lee style Jeet Kune DO is in factor. The Quickness of Jackie Chan versus the strength of Chuck Norris is also in factor. Can never find this out so I didn't vote to many damn factors. Everybody just use your and become the best fighter in the world "A true warriors enter the arena with all his powers at the ready'
gcav Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 Chuck Norris is a 6 time World Champion undefeated fighter. He gets my vote. Train like your life depends on it....Because it does.
White Warlock Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 Chuck Norris, if i recall, was a 6 time champion (can't call it World champion, since it was competitions in the U.S. only at the time) of 'point-contact'. It was this experience that allowed him to be great for 'screen.' Jet Li is a 'wushu' champion. A 'forms' champion, not a combat champion. Bruce Lee... mostly myth. His contributions to the martial arts community were not as much his martial prowess, as it was his assistance in getting the Chinese community to teach non-Chinese and to bring Chinese martial arts into the American/European mainstream, via his movies and the creation of his 'Kung Fu' series. Jackie Chan is a very talented martial artist and stuntman. A real action hero. But, he would be the first to tell you he is not a fighter. Chuck Norris has evolved significantly over the decades, including having studied bjj under the Gracies. Jet Li has not, Bruce Lee could not, Jackie Chan... i'm sure he has insight into such. I would write off Jet Li as an impressive dancer. I would write off Bruce Lee, because he died before the martial arts encountered its greatest span of evolution. That leaves Chuck Norris or Jackie Chan. Chuck is a horrible actor, due to his flat affect personality, but... i give the edge to Chuck Norris... as he has more of a killer instinct than Jackie. Jackie is just a nice guy. "When you are able to take the keys from my hand, you will be ready to drive." - Shaolin DMV TestIntro
Drunken Monkey Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 so is that nice guy so he won't fight? or nice guy so he'll let him win? post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite."
Shane Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 You know I like all of them, Jackie Chan is very awsome to watch and is funny but holding his own agains Bruce Lee or Chuck Norris I dont think so. Jet Li is awsome to watch also I dont know much about his real world martial arts abilities but his a good actor hahahaha. And then there is Bruce and Chuck!!!!!! Chuck Norris was of course a great fighter of his time but you have to give Bruce Lee credit for his open mind and helping change the martial arts world. Good Post but I cant really say who is beter or not because I only know what I have read or seen on a tv A True Martial Arts Instructor is more of a guide than anything, on your way to developing the warrior within yourself!!!!!
White Warlock Posted October 8, 2004 Posted October 8, 2004 Yeppers. None of them have actually had to use their skills in a 'real' confrontation in like... their lifetime. "When you are able to take the keys from my hand, you will be ready to drive." - Shaolin DMV TestIntro
