dear john Posted October 1, 2004 Author Posted October 1, 2004 you guys are avoiding what i am tell you. it is dangerous only life or death BUT WHAT ABOUT THE SPARRING common now, please talk about the issue's and stop stating the facts. i do think the facts are important and i know several MA's use this tactic but none of them seem to try and perfect it. the funny thing is that i know im wrong and i know your right, yet you keep argueing like it will change my mind. you should really know, you dont have to be right to win:)
thaiboxerken Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 Ok, life/death situation. Do it. How's that? Do you really need other people to think for you? Just kick 'em, they'll understand.- Me Apprentice Instructor under Guro Inosanto in Jun Fan Gung Fu and Filipinno Martial arts.Certified Instructor of Frank Cucci's Linxx system of martial arts.
47MartialMan Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 but you all forget about my idea about simply sparring with safety goggles to perfect this dangerous technique. if you could become good in sparring, a fight shouldnt be much harder. One of the sytems I have been in, had a different and unique manner. Really strange and concisive.

Yes, by all means spar with goggles or headgear with a plastic face shield. With goggles, practice ripping them off with a finger as you knuckle rake the eyes. I actually used that in a fight once, and it was pretty effective as a set up for follow up strikes. (Edit: he was wearing glasses, not goggles- but it was at work, so goggles would have been a possibility) Use your immagination, and train as many ways as possible for as many different possibilities. Good idea. One of the sytems I have been in, had a different and unique manner. Really strange and concisive. You going to just let that sit there, or you going to tell us what you are talking about? Freedom isn't free!
delta1 Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 delta1 What do you mean? What was it about their manner that made it 'strange and unique'?... What was their manner? What was 'consisive' about it? What did they do there that might help us in our understanding or training? That kind of statement beggs an explanation! Freedom isn't free!
47MartialMan Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 delta1, I now understand what you are asking. I very much would like to share that with you. But, unfortuantely I cannot go into details per a specific reason. (Perhaps a PM?) I was just posting that there are other ways/methods, besides "googles"
delta1 Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 delta1, I now understand what you are asking. I very much would like to share that with you. But, unfortuantely I cannot go into details per a specific reason. (Perhaps a PM?) Feel free. I'll check back when I finish mowing the lawn (or later, if you are busy now). Freedom isn't free!
dear john Posted October 2, 2004 Author Posted October 2, 2004 you guys are joking me right. i ask questions and you go off on your own through PM please let me in on the secret the funny thing is that i know im wrong and i know your right, yet you keep argueing like it will change my mind. you should really know, you dont have to be right to win:)
delta1 Posted October 2, 2004 Posted October 2, 2004 I guess it is sort of rude! But it's up to him whether or not he tells any of us anything. All I can tell you is that he hasn't, so don't feel left out. And all I can do with him is to suggest he let you in on it, whatever 'it' is. Freedom isn't free!
