krunchyfrogg
Hi everybody. I just got married, and wifey refuses to give up AOL. So I decided to save some cash (we're both strapped right now) and use her AOL account when I need to go online. We still live apart during the week, and there is a problem if we both need to get online at the same time (the same screen name can not be online in different locations at the same time). How can I add another screename to the account? It's my understanding that AOL allows something like 8 screen names, and we might both be able to access the internet if we're signing on seperately. TIA BTW, I'm using her AOL dial-up account right now. P.A.L
No, you won't. even with different screen name it still kicks you out, instead of $23 to AOL ,get two cheaper account from another ISP provider,I am with EV1.net for $11 per month, you still can use AOL messenger. krunchyfrogg
Pacificshore: I found a place, but it didn't work out. I ended up just doing other things, and had the time of my life. Thanks for the help everybody! monkeygirl
AOL has to be the most problematic ISP I've ever heard of. I've never personally used it (because there are no local dial-up numbers in my area so it would be a long distance call, and I'm not doing broadband through them), but everyone I know of who has it, hates it. It's overpriced, and most/all of the good features can be obtained without cost (AIM, etc). Go local or with some service like NetZero or Juno. That way if it's crappy, at least you're paying less. 1st dan & Asst. Instructor TKD 2000-2003No matter the tune...if you can rock it, rock it hard. aefibird
I had AOL for about 3 months and hated it. Since I switched to Freeserve (now called Wanadoo) I've had no trouble. I wouldn't recommend AOL at all to anyone. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..." The Beautiful South - The Rose of My CologneSheffield Steelers! krunchyfrogg
I don't like it myself, but Wifey refuses to give it up, so I may as well cancel my service (which sucked too), and we can share the bill.
