well, TKD is an olympic sport, and although it isnt karate, it is quite similar for sure. no offence, but it would be stupid for the olympics to have both styles. im hoping to compete in the next olympics, even though i do karate. the two are just so similar,that it would not be that hard for me to convert to that style. no, i dont think karate will be a sport at the olympics. besides, lets try to keep karate as a martial art alright? i dont want to see karate turned into a "sport"

In karate, hands and feet are generally (varies between systems) used equally...or 50/50. I don't see any evidence of Olympic TKD participants doing anything with their hands, except watching them dangle at their sides.

 

Also in karate, or at least the majority of the karate I've seen, sweeps, take downs, grabbing, hand strikes, and the head and *shudder* groin are legal targets. Outside of Olympic TKD participants wearing a uniform and belt, there are few similarities between Olympic TKD and karate IMHO.

If you have Olympic Karate you will get even more McDojos springing up everywhere. I say keep karate well and truely out of the karate, and keep it pure!

Judo is in the olympics but you don't see many McDojos of them. Or at least more of them than before Judo became an olympic sport.

For a start Judo is ranked completely differently. It's done more on how many of your fights you've won.
