aefibird Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 If you feel confident with your skill, at least do this technique on someone who is aware of the danger and willing to take that risk, not an innocent, ever trusting child like this. I agree. It's irresponsible to do a trick such as that with a child. If the guy wanted to show off his nunchaku tricks he should have got an adult to hold the cup, not a child. Red J Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 Agreed. Besides, this kid cannot give legal consent. I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.
Shorinryu Sensei Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 I agree 100% with what has been said so far...but take a look at the video again. I believe (could be wrong though) that the "Dad" is using foam covered practice nunchauku. Not that those wouldn't hurt also, but if they are the foam ones (black and skinny looking to me), and with the amount of force he's using..it probably wouldn't do a whole lot of damage to the child if he did hit him. Don't get me wrong people...I'm not saying it's OK to do it with any sort of weapon on a child. But I'll bet that "Dad" is taking a certain amount of precautions with the practice "chucks". Did I just say chucks? My nightly prayer..."Please, just let me win that PowerBall Jackpot just once. I'll prove to you that it won't change me!"
47MartialMan Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 It doewnt matter. One should never do anything like this-William Tell!
EvilGrasshopper Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 Holy......that is possibly the supidist thing I have ever seen anyone do in their whole life. If you notice the trajectory of the nunchauku, i misses the childs nose by about a tenth of a inch. Plus, as someone that has seen some exilent nunchauku use, this guy had almost no clue what he was doing. He might have used them for several weeks at the most. I would not trust my sensi to do that to me, or anyone else for that matter, and this guy just does some stupid stunt with his kid, posts it on the web, and makes it look like he is bruce lee. Irrisponcible. This reminds me about an old far side cartoon about william tells, older, less fortunat son
Shane Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 STUPID Ive never had any training with the Nanchaku, so its only fair for childrens safety out there that I be allowed to try to knock the cup from Dads mouth. A True Martial Arts Instructor is more of a guide than anything, on your way to developing the warrior within yourself!!!!!
battousai16 Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 "Did I just say chucks? " i have to admit, i was a bit taken aback when i read that. had to do a double take to make sure it was you... "I hear you can kill 200 men and play a mean six string at the same time..."-Six String Samurai
Shorinryu Sensei Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 It was a poor attempt at humor. I'm glad SOMEBODY caught it! My nightly prayer..."Please, just let me win that PowerBall Jackpot just once. I'll prove to you that it won't change me!"
47MartialMan Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 Shame and gives reputable MA's a bad name.
