ddpc Posted October 18, 2004 Author Posted October 18, 2004 http://flyingeagleacademy.com/drunken.shtml that has a pretty good explanation of the eight immortals. "It is only after you have lost everything, that you are free to do anything."
47MartialMan Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 Yep, I should have guessed the 8 immortals as Daost beliefs. it sounded like Daoism tales.
TeaL Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 I still would like to know if anyone know's if u have to be drunk in order to make this style effective..... No. You'd have to be very, very good at fighting though. drinking would make it less effective... the reason its called drunken boxing is because of the whimsical movements, that resemble that of a drunk, not because they are intoxicated. Silly jackie chan movies.
47MartialMan Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 No, legend has it there was an actual guy that was drunk and fight this way
Zhong Gau Posted December 8, 2004 Posted December 8, 2004 ddpc and batusai: i also remember a choy guang in the greater phoenix area. i think its over in sun city or west of the American Graduate School some 12 miles. Ah! Mantis Grasshopper, i think you would do very nicely on a bowl of rice!
