sasori_te... dont get me wrong, you handled the situation great. perfectly. but just for the record, defending a woman, particularly your wife, from sexual assault wont get you arrested unless the cops a reeeal dick with something to prove (bogus arrest), and certainly wont get you charged with anything.

The cop could have gotten me for excessive use of force if I would have continued. Not to mention the guy was drunk and he never really laid a hand on her. He was on his way. He didn't make it. I was just very lucky that I didn't take it any further. And, just to let you know, the cops in New Orleans are d!cks. They have to be, especially during Mardi Gras.

My fiance and I were down in New Orleans for Mardi Gras (mistake number 1). We were walking down Bourbon Street when an obnoxious drunk asked if he could see my fiance's t!ts. I figured that I would let her handle it and avoid escalating the situation. Apparently the guy didn't notice me. She told him to get lost. He tried to grab her. I planted a nice palm heel on his forehead. I then backed up and let him collect himself both mentally and physically out of the gutter. As I was walking away a plain clothes police officer grabbed me by the arm and thanked me for not hitting the guy again as he would have then had to arrest both of us. I said your welcome and thanked him for not arresting me and went about my business. I'm just thankful that the situation didn't escalate as the guy was with a group of other guys. It could've gotten nasty. I was very lucky.

Were you a visitor/tourist?

Ok Rick, I'm going to reply to your situation. Ummmmm you twisted the guys arm...good...you went down to the ground with him leaving two other guys still standing??? Well that's why you got the crap kicked out of you! Man I hope not all you guys are this dumb. :x

47MM. I'm originally from central Louisiana, so your question is a bit hard to answer. I have made many trips down to New Orleans over the years but the closest that I've ever lived to therer was about 45 minutes. Why do you ask?

Because a lot of tourists get in trouble more than the "locals".

Not to say you started any, but that place has many decadence and if you go there, sometime, somewhere, sombody is going to mess with somebody.

So, central La, like where? Baton Rouge, Lafayette?

And, you no longer live there?

More like North Central... Natchitoches. However, the last place I lived in Louisiana was Denham Springs which is about 20 minutes East of Baton Rouge.

No, I now live in beautiful Ohio (I haven't gone through Winter here yet so let me think it'd nice while I can. :) ).

I would also like to point out that the only reason that tourists get into more trouble than the locals in New Orleans is because the tourists don't know better. It's not because the cops there give you a break if you mess up.

Natchitoches- I have family there.

Coming from a large family from both "sides", I have family from Texas, La, and Miss. But the "stronghold" is Louisiana.

Denham Springs- one of my masters was born/raised there.

Ohio-I have students (one form a "chaper of my martial art-well not really "mine"). Throughout there (A long story), Dayton, Cinn, and "small towns" around those.

Northern Ohio winters are......
