Ted T.
Ahh, my term for the triangle formed from the top of the ear to the shuolder to the base of the neck and back up - great for elbows, ax hands (shutos) cup hands etc. Ted TruscottThe Raising Canes Club
dingyuan
Elbows are extremely useful especially for a Baji Quan student like myself. A lot of Baji Quan moves use elbow as it is the fastest way to force a knockdown. I could go as far as to say that the strength of Baji Quan lays in it's dashing elbow attacks. Muaythaiboxer
elbows are some of the most devastating weapons in all of martial arts. i have used elbows twice in a fight and had more than a little success with them. if you watch skilled thai fighters or NHB fighters they make good use of elbows standing or on the ground. Kreisi
I guess they work against a little smaller opponents but when you strike with elbows remember the opponent might get a good lock on you ... if he or she(i hope you never fight against women) knows martial arts What hurts you but doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. Muaythaiboxer
not if you do it fast, i have never ever seen someone catch an elbow in professional bouts so i dont think you need to worry about locks, you would have to me amazing to catch a solid peace of bone traviling at 60mph. Snakeeel
No one said you could only elbow someone in the head. Elbows to the solar plexis work great...elbows to the groin...kidneys, liver, spleen, inside of the thigh, outside of the knee...if your life is in danger...to the throat. Great close in weapon...especially for us short guys!
