manuelito Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 i think elbows are very effective. ofcourse not always the best choice but a still a great striking surface. pain is weakness leaving the body.fear is the mind killer, i will face my fear and let it pass threw me. from the movie "dune"i know kung fu...show me. from the movie "the matrix"
Gilbert Posted September 22, 2004 Posted September 22, 2004 elbows are very effective in close range.... but be careful how you strike with your elbow see...in striking with the elbow can be dangerous.... strike it upward you will rip and bust the person open. i you do it side ways and inward your beating not busting or ripping him up. ofcourse in a fight....a striker fights but becareful how you control you attacks. Even the most powerful human being has a limited sphere of strength. Draw him outside of that sphere and into your own, and his strength will dissipate.
Sasori_Te Posted September 22, 2004 Posted September 22, 2004 What??? are you talking about? Have you busted anyone open recently? If so, I'd love to know how you do that. I'm always up for a new technique. I'm still trying to find someone that can teach me the "quart of blood" technique that Eddie Murphy talks about on "Trading Places". If anyone knows this please tell me how I can do it too. A block is a strike is a lock is a throw.

shotokanwarrior Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 I would use an elbow against a bigger guy, but not as a first strike. Where Art ends, nature begins.
47MartialMan Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 I would use an elbow against a bigger guy, but not as a first strike. Ok, that would be a good point.
JerryLove Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 I would use an elbow against a bigger guy, but not as a first strike. Depends entirely on the situation. https://www.clearsilat.com
longarm25 Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 very effective PhilRyu Kyu Christian Karate Federation"Do not be dependent on others for your improvement. Pay respect to God and Buddhabut do not reley on them." Musashi
47MartialMan Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 Have you perform them in a streetfight?
wrestlingkaratechamp Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 When you have someone in the guard, a short strike elbow to the nose or jaw is much more effective then a punch where you need to bring your hand all the way up. As for elbows in the standing, I would not reley on them.
