i belive that jkd was invented for real situations

Yes. Why?- because its YOU expressing yourself at the time of the fight. Be it, kicking, grappling, biting or what so ever.

JKD is not a style it is a concept. You tailor what you LEARN to what best works for you. You are not restricted by patterns, although to grasp concepts and techniques at first...is important. Once these fundementals are integral to your personal make up however, you are free to do what has to be done in a fight.

Thats why i class ufc fighters as jkd guys..technique often goes out of the window, you change to suit the situation.

I don't understand... so JKD isn't a syle that will be effective in real fight situatiuons? I guess not.. it's only a philosophy

oh its effective in street fights it is a philosophy but there are core techniques in it, me and some friends used it successfully in street fights

Core techniques such as

power side foreward

5 way of attack

straight lead , straight blast

closest weapon to nearest target ( shin, knee kick, finger jab )

intercept

and many more

i'd prefer to loose a fight in a ring,than loose a fight in a street to a gang of thugs who might kill me,i think real situations count more

its like a finger pointing away to the moon.....dont concentrate on the finger or youu will miss all that heavenly glory
