aefibird Posted September 22, 2004 Posted September 22, 2004 McDojo= a slang term used by many martial artists, especially on these forums, to describe a 'money-making' or 'sub-standard' martial arts club. Usually McDojo's are 'belt factory' type establishments - students receive grades based on their length of time training and how many sessions attended, not necessarily on how good or bad they are or whether they have the skills to hold that particular grade. Beiner Posted September 22, 2004 Author Posted September 22, 2004 Yeh the dojo Im in has small class sizes, and even the orange belts are helping me immensily. Lots of fun, and we have like 2 instructors to 8 people, then a couple black belts who help but don't teach. Its awesome.
