For some reason I can't get over the feeling that this reality show is just an attempt to cling on the remains of his fame so people will actually pay money to see him get whipped by Bernard Hopkins. The last title he got his hands on was from a paper champion. He's been doing poorly in the ring over the last 2 years, losing more often, not getting any knockouts, maintaining victories with split decisions...I use to love him in his prime primarilly for his finesse and combinations. Now his style is so much different, not as graceful as I once remember.

If your enemy refuses to be humbled......you must destroy him.

Well, the point could be made that De La Hoya hasn't done well in the past few years due to coming up in weight and an inability to deal with the power that the naturally heavier boxers have. Also De La Hoya is no longer the spring chicken he used to be. In all athletes careers comes a point where the body will not be able to do what it once could. Oscar has hit that point and is on the downside of a fantastic career. It will be interesting to see how long he remains in the game after Hopkins gets a hold of him. I hope he dosen't make the same mistakes as many fighters do ie. Evander Holyfield.

De La Hoya was washed up the moment he put out his music CD, did his first Music Video, started his music label, joined SAG and tried out a few soap opera roles.

He doesnt have the heart to fight anymore, He only knows how to fight, but he doesnt have the heart to drive him.

Yeah i think the fight has just gone out of him. I was watchin a DVD of old boxing fights just last night in fact and i was admiring his skill and finesse. But i think it's all but gone now... No more eye of the tiger. It's a shame when boxers keep on going when they know they've lost it, they should always go out at their peak. Or perhaps he doesn't know that he's lost it!?
