Coco
Hurricane Ivan is schedruled to hit florida on monday right now. Frances missed miami by a string, but maybe this one hits us harder? Its a category 4 now, but so was frances till it got 1-2 days away from coming. Thoughts on this one? Will it hit? Kicks
This is incredible, 1 tropical storm and 3 hurricanes in a month's time! As much as I don't want to see Ivan hit FL, I do hope it stays east of us (New Orleans). Hey, nobody's using Alabama and Mississippi right now, that might be a good place. Just joking ya'll!!!! DLopez
It's been so long since a major hurricane has hit Texas, I get really nervous with each coming hurricane season. We're due. The last hurricane to hit the greater Houston area was Alicia. We did get dumped on by Tropical Storm Allison a few years back, but that was mostly flood damage. There was really no wind damage to speak of. We have gone relatively unscathed since then. DeanDahn Boh Nim - Black-Brown BeltKuk Sool Won"Dream as if you'll live forever. Red J
Kicks, watch it carefully and be prepared. After getting smacked around by Frances for 3 days, I can tell you it was not fun, especially sitting in a hot house with no electricity. It is supposed to be downgraded to a 3 when it hits. Hopefully it stays clear of you. Good luck. I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.
Kicks
Red J, Thanks. I lived through Betsy, Camille, Andrew, and many more. They are no fun. I won't be messing around with this one. when you create the world's largest trailer park, you're going to have tornadoes
Red J
That's a few. I've seen David, Erin, Mitch, Irene and now Frances. Andrew was only 60 miles south and had hardly a breeze in Palm Beach but it sure leveled Homestead. Camille was a beast back in '69. I hope that Ivan backs down. We don't need another catastrophic storm. I just talked to my brother in Panama City Beach and they are getting the evacuation order tomorrow morning. Stay safe. Red J
Kicks, have you evacuated yet? I heard that 1 million people in the New Orleans area just got the order to move. Good luck and keep us posted if you have internet access. I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.
