who is the greatest kickboxer of all time!

Recommended Posts

I'm showing my age here but yeah I know of Steve Sheppard,he was one time a world champion and promoted and fought on his own shows.Wasn't he based in Florida?

The first Aussie to challenge for a world title was Dave Hedgecock for Steve Sheppards title.Sheppard won,I think by a K.O.

On a separate note JWP beat Rodtung on Master Toddy's show in Vegas and Nick Kara beat Manson Gibbson.Juansanan Fairtex beat Daniel Dawson over 5 rounds. It's good to see the Aussie doing well.aussie, aussie, aussie, oie, oie, oie!!

I gotta go with Benny "The Jet" Urquidez...his record speaks for itself. He was undefeated in every title bout & through his pro career.

the jet is a good fighter but what is not publisized enough is the fact that he has turned down challenges from thai boxers and the few thai boxers that he fought (under watered down thai rules) have killed him

the jet won that is the bottom line i get tired of thai fans who say this thai could have won had they fought under the right rules. benny was the best and no one could beat him at wka rules if you do not like it stay and fight in bangkok.

maybe the jet was protected but what promoter does not protect the star

Does any one think Ronnie Green is a pioneer of the martial arts in the UK. What knid of a pionner has nothing to show for his five world titles. Do you want you children and students to look up to a has been who can hardley read or write.

It's a sad day when we have to think of soft spoken has beens who rather stay in the shadows than make a difference.

nuff respect

Ronnie Green, was 5 times world Muay Thai Champ. was trained by Master Toddy and Master Sken.

Respect where it's due,

How can yer argue with that.

Re: Benny the Jet ,

I have to say he was the best kick-boxer, but kept well away from Muay Thai, he only had a couple of fights watered down version of Muay Thai. Without the elbows , knees , the clinch.

all the best in Muay Thai

I remember Steve Shepherd well. A pioneer of the sport in America and an all time great. Back in the early 1980's as a middleweight, he challenged the heavyweight champion (Demetrius Oaktree Edwards) at the time and beat him by unanimous decision. He has wins over Don Wilson, Bob Thurman, Dale Cook, Ted Pryor, Earnest Hart, Bob Ryan and others. A true legend.

Some of my all time greats : North America - Shepherd, Wilson, Urquidez, Theriault, Roufus, Mo Smith, Dorsey, Bill Wallace, Joe Lewis, Cliff Thomas.

Europe - Ernesto Hoost, Rob Kaman, Ramon Dekkers.

Japan - Toshio Fujiwara.
