ramcalgary Posted December 20, 2001 Posted December 20, 2001 I would say Maurice Smith, he has been around a long time and continues to win reguardless of rules. Rob Kaman a close second Honor is the most important thing a man has once you lose it it is gone forever
havoc Posted December 20, 2001 Posted December 20, 2001 i would pick kaman over maurice. robby has fought all rules, even full thai rules.he was a complete fighter.
Prodigy-Child Posted December 21, 2001 Posted December 21, 2001 same with maurice smith......smith has fought with thai rules, k1 rules and he has even been in the UFC You can boo me if you want, You know I'm right!-Chris Rock
Iron Arahat Posted December 21, 2001 Posted December 21, 2001 I would have to say Teng Jun from China. He was the Chinese National Sanda Championships '96, '97, '98 and '99 (No weight divison). He has a record like 45-0, which is quite a feat considering many of the Chinese National competitions involve 5+ fights in a two day period. kicker Posted December 21, 2001 Posted December 21, 2001 well I am not quite sure (ME ) j/k well theres lots of good ones. when you do your best it`s going to show. "If you watch the pros, You will learn something new"
Danny boy Posted December 22, 2001 Posted December 22, 2001 If you are talking kickboxing and not MT then Maurice Smith,Benny Urquidez,Pete Cunningham,Hector Penna,Richard Sylla,Stan Longinides. If you are talking Muay Thai then you have Rammon Dekker,Rob Kaman,Sangtien Noi,Jongsanan Woodenman,Samsan,JWP,Danny Bille,Stephan Nikima,Ronny Green,Sakad Petchindee. Sorry there are too many good fighters to pick one.
havoc Posted December 22, 2001 Posted December 22, 2001 stan has fought full thai rules. perry ubeda would be another pick. and john wayne parr, ivan hypolite, and gilbert ballentine. maurice,to my knowledge, has not fought full thai rules.
Danny boy Posted December 22, 2001 Posted December 22, 2001 When did Stan fight full MT rules with elbows,I thought the fight with Kirkland was modified rules for the WMC title(no elbows????) Ivan Hypolite was a great fighter. Peter Smit was a hard fighter as well. JWP is great ,spent a year off(just boxing) and comes back and wins on the Kings Birthday show, not many fighters can do that.
havoc Posted December 23, 2001 Posted December 23, 2001 i thought the fight with kirkwood was under full thai rules, maybe, maybe not. however, his title defense against andy hug was full rules. stan as you probably know, lost on ko after being folded into a lawn chair twice.
Danny boy Posted December 29, 2001 Posted December 29, 2001 Andy Hug was a great fighter for both Kyokushin and kickboxing, his passing was a sad loss for the sport. Anyone know what Pete Cunningham is up to now? or know where I could get a copy of his book?
