Hi. Are any of you guys part of a demo team. What are some of the things that your team does? What is your typical demo team class like?

My demo team consists of my entire class. From the lowest beginning white belt, to my highest, 2nd degree (soon to be 3rd) black belt student. I'm proud of one and all of them and I am not afraid to put any of them in the public eye for a demonstration.

We practice for two hours/class, two classes/week. When we give a demonstration, we will do just about anything, and we rarely actually prepare for it ahead of time. I tell my students what I want them to do, and they do it.

Pretty simple, huh? :D

My nightly prayer..."Please, just let me win that PowerBall Jackpot just once. I'll prove to you that it won't change me!"

Our "demo team" is pretty much the same as Shorinryu Sensei's. When we got out and do things, we just pull people out at random to demonstrate their level of ability. I think it's a lot more effective for recruiting to let people see the HUGE jump you make in 6 months (watching a white belt and a green belt do the same techniques) than have a 3rd dan come out and do fancy stuff that they won't get to do for 15 more years :)

We do go to 1-2 tournaments a year, and we compete in the creativity division. Anyone is welcome to join that group, but it tends to only be the really hardcore group since we train on our own, etc.

I'm no longer posting here. Adios.
