Jbone1
Exactly^^ Bruce didn't want to put a label on it so people are saying it's a certain style. GhostlySykanRyu
To a point it is nonexistant, yet at the same time it is everything. I'm done trying to put a label on it, as we all think of it in a different light. I know what it is to me, and I know it improves me. That's all that matters. To condemn the art of another is to condemn your own as well. We all have the same origin.
Drunken Monkey
your signature. it's not quite right. the answer to the first question should be: i belong to no sect. the answer to the second should be: i have no style. post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite." GhostlySykanRyu
It's simply a matter of wording... "Myself" seems to suite just as well, it means I am in search to find the ways of myself at any cost. "No style" and "my style" work interchangably for me...they are on and the same. To condemn the art of another is to condemn your own as well. We all have the same origin.
Drunken Monkey
but in answering that your sect is from yourself you are acknowledging that there is a sect. just as when you say that it is 'my style' you are acknowledging that there is a style. that is why i say it is not quite right. post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite." Wickedwayz
I picked up a copy of Tao of Jeet Kune Do , and started reading it since i made this post originally , not only do i look at it different now , but furthermore withdraw the original post , JKD i think is more of a mind set and physical conditioning , in short not to limit ones self . Well im off to find my own JKD and suggest everyone else do the same . ~Never retreat, Always advance to the rear.
Drunken Monkey
but in order to find something that works for you, you have to try everything to see what is for you. and in order to try something properly, you have to be shown/taught that thing properly. hence, the need for an instructor at every stage of learning. post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite." Jbone1
I think we all get the need for instruction point. That's pretty common sense don't ya think? At least I hope we all think that. By knowing ourselves, our physical capabilities and limits we should be able to choose a style or system that is a good foundation. Good roots for our tree. Then we branch off from there but we must have deep roots. "What's your style?""My style?""You can call it the art of fighting without fighting." Drunken Monkey
i know. but i'm sure you know how many kids like to think they can get good by themselves from copying books and whatnot. post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite."
