47MartialMan
DM is so ostentatious, aka/slang "strut". And yes, I agree to the term fighting arts becoming a recognizable term for a broader, accurate distinction.
Drunken Monkey
i'm pretentious? and you are not? positioning yourself as the all knowing entity here, 'testing' us with your questions that you already know the answers to...... but why am i responding to this obvious baiting. post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite." Drunken Monkey
i'm offended because you claim that i am a boastful show off. all i am doing is stating the things that i know and presenting my explainations as to where they come from. if anything you are the one here who is pretentious. i don't know. maybe its cos most of the people here know me and you are still getting used to the way i post things. one thing i do know is that i'm not very patient. i don't like waffling to make a point. i believe that concise and precise makes the easiest answers for most people to understand. you might've noticed that the way i type my posts is to help keep things clear. if i come across as being a bit curt then i apologise but i rather be mistaken than misunderstood. post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite." 47MartialMan
No, DM, It is I, that must apologise. And, yes, perhaps I have to "get used" to the way you post. So, please, if you will, accept my apology for I mean no intentional/personal insult.
Shorinryu Sensei
TWEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!! Ok boys..break clean and go back to your respective corners. One thing I've noticed in nearly 9 years on the internet is how easily people can be misunderstood in what they type on this blasted thing. It happens to me all the time. My nightly prayer..."Please, just let me win that PowerBall Jackpot just once. I'll prove to you that it won't change me!"

This is the same with most communication and dialogue. Things are often mis-read, misiunderstood, or mis-comunicated.
Master Jules
The typed word can never convey the feeling and emotional content of the spoken word.....misunderstandings are common.....were all here to help each other in any way we can, but sometimes, it just doesnt run as smoothly as we'd like......I doubt that anyone had meant any intentional disrespect. ~Master Jules......aka "The Sandman""I may be a trained killer......but Im really a nice guy"
47MartialMan
Yes, When I first mentioned that DM liked to "strut", this was in a good fashion. In my area/hometown, we say: “Go Ahead On With Your Bad Self” Meaning: “You were impressive, please continue” Or we may say: He/she likes to “strut” (or strut their stuff) Meaning: “They (he/she) shown well what they know" DM said he was being “pedantic” about the actual words and grammer used"… So upon his terms, I stepped up with another word-DM is so ostentatious, (per in a good way) I then followed it by: aka/slang "strut". Following: And yes, I agree to the term fighting arts becoming a recognizable term for a broader, accurate distinction. Now this comes to the point, that DM stated, from what I perceived, where the literal translation of Kung Fu changes in proportion to the dialogue. Hence, my word usage/dialogue, misunderstood and taken literary, or its literal translation, was not meant to insult. I do not retract my apology. An apology is never being beneath me to do so-humbly. Master Jules, you are so right.

I've read that something like only 15% of communication comes from the actual words used, and that the other 85% comes from body language, inflection, tone, cadence, expression, etc, etc. So it pays to keep in mind that when you read something on here, you're only getting 15% of the message the author is trying to send. And as authors, it's important to keep your messages as 'informational' as possible. Wap "Fighting fighting. Same Same""But you know karate!""Someone always know more..."
