Gorgoth
I was reading up on the paper tent gung fu training methods. What I was reading was very vague and unclear, though. From what I got from it, you fill a box with paper and warp a string around it. You then get a nine foot by two foot table and put the box on it. You then commence punching the box and pulling it back with the string. Then once you can send the box flying, you put lead weights in the box and increase the weight as you progress in your training. After you have the box flying across the table with the lead weights in it, you take out a section of the table and hit the box over the missing section. As you progress you take out more and more sections until the table is only a few feet long and you can send the box in the air and pull it back without ever tiring. After you can do that, you will have an IMMENSELY strong punch with the hand you've been training on. Now, is what i got from it right? Do any of you know of or train using this method? Do any of you know of any web-sites where i can read more on this method? I didnt find much at all searching on Google. Thanks for any replies. -Gor Student- Okinawan Goju-Ryu: Miyagi Style

Aikidoka
Sounds right to me, except its not put in a box, its a box made of paper. Of course, we may have got our info from the same place, that description fits Bruce Lee's in the 'Tao of Gung Fu'. Where's your info from? Gorgoth
Ya, its from Bruce Lee's The Tao of Gung Fu. I've read that book a few times now, its a good book. But then i read on the Internet about it (and this is all the site had) that it was a box with paper put into it or something like that. The site was so incredibly vague, all it said was 'you punch a box full of paper for a long time.' I dont think the dude that made the site knew much about it So, do you know how to make a box out of paper? Master Lee didnt describe much on that part of it. And do you know how much a chinese ounce is? Thanks for the replies you all. -Gor Student- Okinawan Goju-Ryu: Miyagi Style

Gorgoth
Yeah, I'm gonna experiment and see if I can figure out how to make a box out of paper. He said you would barely be able to move the paper box at first, so I am assuming that means its going to be VERY heavy. I know how to make the 9 foot table I will tell you how I made it if I figure it out. -Gor Student- Okinawan Goju-Ryu: Miyagi Style
