47MartialMan Posted September 11, 2004 Posted September 11, 2004 Yeah, I was doing a black belt test. I had to spar a guy a couple of Dans higher than me. He was shorter and so was his kicks. One in particular to my "shorter leg and his nutty neighbors" Wham, I paused for milli-seconds, release a barrage of defenses/retaliation, and he went down almost unconcious. After I left (which it felt like I left something), I went to nearby medical clinic. It was days to clear up that hurt. Which can prove a point, groin shots doesnt mean that you, or a opponent is "Down-For-The-Count"
Master Jules Posted September 11, 2004 Posted September 11, 2004 Very true......I recently had one of those "real life encounters" at a bar where I was working security. During a fight agains two guys, I wound up knocking out the first guy fairly easily, just a 1 punch deal, but his buddy jumped me from behind, I flipped him, and in the scuffle, got hit a bunch of times in the nuts while choking him out. At the time, I felt no pain at all, but after the whole thing was over, it "caught up" to me, and I got extremely neaseaus and almost threw up. Nut shots can have a variety of effects, from instant to delayed.....either way...they aint fun. ~Master Jules......aka "The Sandman""I may be a trained killer......but Im really a nice guy"
47MartialMan Posted September 12, 2004 Posted September 12, 2004 Styles are like opinions, everybody has theirs.
Master Jules Posted September 12, 2004 Posted September 12, 2004 True.....I think the best style is what suits your mood, and physical feeling at any given time. ~Master Jules......aka "The Sandman""I may be a trained killer......but Im really a nice guy"
47MartialMan Posted September 12, 2004 Posted September 12, 2004 But, in my opinion, I have a list of systems (I dislike the term styles), that I would not mind trying. Although, I have, on my entire list. Not too many qualifying instructors. many charletins.
