47MartialMan Posted August 31, 2004 Author Posted August 31, 2004 Yes, some libraries were limited. As with ALL of my posts: Just thought I wave it out there to stimulate opinions, responses, and/or feedback.
battousai16 Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 yes, there are still libraries around... but they all have computers in them i seem to recall hearing that the greeks used this symbol to represent lightning, as well. y'know, just FYI. Really, the Greeks had used it also???? I haven't read that one....please point me to that reference.
battousai16 Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 i seem to recall hearing it... as in i heard it, it very well may not be true, and i don't have a reference. the greeks were never my big thing. i could do some digging, but then again, so could you... i just posed it as a thought. 47MartialMan Posted August 31, 2004 Author Posted August 31, 2004 My "digging" has uncovered that, but I have many books on symbols. I was hoping you had something that I could actually read.
Master Jules Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 I have seen the reverse swastika being used as a symbol in the shaolin temple. ~Master Jules......aka "The Sandman""I may be a trained killer......but Im really a nice guy"
Drunken Monkey Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 it's also seen on some old chinese characters, specifically ones that were used before the 'unification' of the empire, language and writing. post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite."
Master Jules Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 As is all chinese martial arts....we all know the Bohdidahrma story. ~Master Jules......aka "The Sandman""I may be a trained killer......but Im really a nice guy"
47MartialMan Posted August 31, 2004 Author Posted August 31, 2004 Though Buddhist and Imperial sutras show otherwise. But what does ol "Bodi" have to do with the swastika subject and its martial art relation per what style used the symbol?
