Shorin Ryuu Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 You'll find them all over maps in Japan since they represent temples (sort of like how we put crosses to represent churches in America). It is funny to see tourist reactions to this if they don't know what it means... Martial Arts Blog:http://bujutsublogger.blogspot.com/
47MartialMan Posted August 30, 2004 Author Posted August 30, 2004 Yes, the Nazis have ruined that symbol for a long eternity.

It is funny to see tourist reactions to this if they don't know what it means... Its not just America, thats the universal symbol used in all Christian countries, u'll find its used in almost the entire weatern world. China and Japan are Buddist countries, so they use a different symbol. "When my enemy contracts I expand and when he expands I contract" - Bruce Lee
Shorin Ryuu Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 I was referring to tourists seeing the swastika denoting the temple, not the crosses... Martial Arts Blog:http://bujutsublogger.blogspot.com/

47MartialMan Posted August 30, 2004 Author Posted August 30, 2004 Does anyone know its meanings? Does anyone know India's influence on Chinese martial arts/ Does anyone know why the Nazis pointed in another direction?

47MartialMan Posted August 31, 2004 Author Posted August 31, 2004 I knew this "decades" before the "Almighty Internet". Just thought I wave it out there to stimulate opinions, responses, and/or feedback.
rickinto Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 What there was life before the Internet??? Who knew? Actually, I do remember having to actually go to the LIBRARY, and using actual BOOKS to do research for College papers and other educational stuff... Do they still have libraries?
