Rich_2k3 Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 (edited) Boxing sensation Amir Khan from Great Britain goes for gold against the Cuban Mesa Kindelan, at the age of 17! Edited August 30, 2004 by Rich_2k3 "When my enemy contracts I expand and when he expands I contract" - Bruce Lee
cross Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Watched that fight last night, the Cuban was just to experienced, but Khan will go a long way in the future.
G Money Slick Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Wow, that's very impressive. Cassius Clay wasn't even that young (20) when he won the gold medal. What weight class is he in again? If your enemy refuses to be humbled......you must destroy him.
Rich_2k3 Posted August 30, 2004 Author Posted August 30, 2004 Lightweight (60kg) Muhammid Ali was actually 18 when he was in the olympics. Interesting story actually, when he got home to america he was rejected from a resturant (rasism) and was so angry he threw his gold medal in a lake, didnt see it again. Drunken Monkey Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 this is gonna sound harsh but i think it's a good thing that he didn't win gold, esp. on his first attempt. hopefully, what it means now is that he knows he has limits and he has to keep pushing them boundaries. confidence is one thing but it can so easily lead to arrogance. post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite."
Rich_2k3 Posted August 31, 2004 Author Posted August 31, 2004 True, he says he's going back in bejing to win gold before he turns pro, he'll be 21 and much stronger. "When my enemy contracts I expand and when he expands I contract" - Bruce Lee
