bluetiger Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 Tennessee's pretty big. Do you want to pick a city or something?
dmoney101 Posted August 29, 2004 Author Posted August 29, 2004 middle tennesse. lavergne, m'burow, nashville, antioch, or smyrna are the closest.
manuelito Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 dmoney101, the styles you have listed are far and few in metro nashville. there is a jj school downtown, lots of wado schools, and taekwondo schools around nashville. email me for more info...i used to live there and still have a school in breentwood. pain is weakness leaving the body.fear is the mind killer, i will face my fear and let it pass threw me. from the movie "dune"i know kung fu...show me. from the movie "the matrix"
dmoney101 Posted August 29, 2004 Author Posted August 29, 2004 I did tae kwon doe but i stopped. the teachers were crappy and it was moving at a very slow rate. all we every did was forms. i know you have to know them to advance in belts but we hardly ever exercised. what did you study in brentwood?
manuelito Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 at the brentwood school, we taught a combination of tkd, karate, bjj. there are so many ma schools in nashville that i do not belive that you can not find one that you like. try to go a visit a handful of schools. i am sure you will find something you like. pain is weakness leaving the body.fear is the mind killer, i will face my fear and let it pass threw me. from the movie "dune"i know kung fu...show me. from the movie "the matrix"
dmoney101 Posted August 30, 2004 Author Posted August 30, 2004 i wouldn't do karate because from what i've seen it's more of a slow power type of ma. i'm really skinny so "i'm a hit em quick beat you into submission type of guy"
SevenStar Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 there is an awesome bjj school there - matter of factly, the music city nationals are being held soon. http://www.nashvillemma.com/ - ed clay http://luizpalharesjiujitsu.com/ - luiz pahlares clay is a student of pahlares. there is a good mantis kung fu school in nashville also. I'll talk to my friend and get the address. I'll ask him what else in the area is decent as well.
