47MartialMan Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 Anyone have a clue to what I am talking about?
Rotten Head Fok Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 yes You must be stable and balanced in your foot work, if you have to use your martial knowledge in combat, your intent should be to win. If you do strike, you must release great power! The martial arts are easy to learn, but difficult to correct.
47MartialMan Posted August 28, 2004 Author Posted August 28, 2004 You know that Kung Fu is not an actual Martial Art? Curious, please explain your viewpoint. I am very much interested in a respectful manner.
47MartialMan Posted August 28, 2004 Author Posted August 28, 2004 By respctful manner is that I respect your viewpoint
battousai16 Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 are you just reffering to the translation thing? because i think it's generally accepted that when one says they learn kung fu, they're learning a martial art. or are you trying to say that chinese styles are ineffective? in that case i'll leave it for someone else to argue with you, as there are people on the subject far more knowledgeable than i. just know that i disagree whole heartedly. battousai16 Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 ok, reading your shaolin kung fu post i see you're reffering to the translation thing. i think if you go anywhere and say you practice kung fu, people will know what you're talking about. even if it wasn't intended to be the name of a martial art at the time, it certainly is now. 47MartialMan Posted August 28, 2004 Author Posted August 28, 2004 I see that you studied the Way of The Flowing Men. Although I have seen it spelled, pronounced, and translated in many different ways.
47MartialMan Posted August 28, 2004 Author Posted August 28, 2004 I menant Flowering...oops Keyboard is sticky.
47MartialMan Posted August 28, 2004 Author Posted August 28, 2004 battousai16 Do you have good Hwaran Do Gong Fu?
battousai16 Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 do you mean to ask if i'm talented at what i do or if i train hard and often? i train about 6 days a week at least once a day, but mostly because i'm a big geek with nothing better to do to tell you the truth, i'm not very good at every aspect of hwa rang do. somethings i'm better at than others, but essentially i'm pretty crap. i do what i can, but it's such a long road... i'm sure you know the feeling.
