personally, i have no intention of doing anything spinning in any real fights. too risky, and one of my things is minimizing the risks as much as possible (which is why i wont kick all that high if at all.) however, i understand the argument because of all spinning manuevers i cant think of a safer one. even a spinning elbow puts you at a different and worse angle, and you have to be closer to hit with that one. still though, id rather just clock the guy.

I agree. But a spinning backfast is good after a good block when used as a counter.

But I have rearely seen it down in a bar room brawl or streetfight.

I have down it only twice within 25 years.

I am not wanting to do it again.

heh heh, i couldn't help but chuckle at that, myself.

i have this thing about not executing techniques unless i'm sure i have full control and am comfortable with it, and, quite frankly, the spinning backfist is one of those techniques that i'm not that comfortable with. every time i try it in friendly sparring, i've never been able to land it. we'll see. i'll work on it.

i would say i have been training wing chun for about 4 years.

the other styles i have picked up some bits of,

were shown to me by various guys at uni and in hk.

i've been 'homeless' for the last two years which is when i started to go to the kickboxing and lee gar.
