I'm new here so if this sounds stupid just please ignore the poor newbie fool, lol. I've been taking TaeKwonDo for about two years now and it been really good for me mentally and physically. But unfortunately TaeKwonDo is, or at least seams to me, a very specialized martial art focusing on kicking a lot more then punching and grabbing (or at least it is the way they teach it at my school) So I'm looking around the web for a site that has one or two forms from a different art (that’s how I found this place ^_^). Obviously I'm not looking to become a black belt in whatever I find, but I do think it would be fun just to try something different with out having to pay for lessons from a different teacher/master/sensei. Basically what I'm asking is if anyone knows a good website (or book) where they show some different forms.

I suggest these 2 katas Gekisai dai ichi and gekisai dai Ni (they are also called Fukyugata Ichi and Ni )these two katas were composed(around 1940) by sensei Miyagi(Naha-te) and sensei Nagamine(shuri-te), you can get some sense of karate forms. I’ll try to find a clip.

superior martial arts; this IMO is a good general martial arts supply website. There are others that can provide you with options that can help you in your quest. As fars as books go, your local library, Barnes&Nobles, Hastings are great places to go read for free and get valuable knowledge on a variety of topics, martial arts or otherwise. If you want to look at different forms I would take a look around your community, ask local teachers if you can watch a class or two to get some kind of idea of that particular style.

You must be stable and balanced in your foot work, if you have to use your martial knowledge in combat, your intent should be to win. If you do strike, you must release great power! The martial arts are easy to learn, but difficult to correct.
