CloudDragon Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 I would look real hard at the KM school as it is difficult to find instruction in the US, but as always, caveat emptor (buyer beware)! A Black Belt is just a white belt that don't know when to quit!
ShadowGoomba Posted August 30, 2004 Author Posted August 30, 2004 I looked at the KM school's website and they seem to have that supermusclekillerstreetnofluff look to them. I will take a look but in general I prefere a more subtle attitude. In general, do Straight Blast gyms give good training? 1-up!
CloudDragon Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Never been to a straight blast gym, but KM is a very EFFICIENT system, no * there, that is why it may seem brutal. because it is, that is what it was designed for, but if you are in it for other reasons, it might not be it for you. A Black Belt is just a white belt that don't know when to quit!

Rich_2k3 Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Yes Krav Maga could be classed as the most effective style out there. Its a quick to learn, very effective, no-nonsense style. The kind of thing thats taught to police and special forces. "When my enemy contracts I expand and when he expands I contract" - Bruce Lee
47MartialMan Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 I had onle briefly read about it. Anyone have a good link on it?
Rich_2k3 Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 I Sure do, http://www.krav-maga.net/uk/krav.htm "When my enemy contracts I expand and when he expands I contract" - Bruce Lee
wing chun kuen man Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 Shadow Gumba, As an ex TKD practitioner you may take to karate quicker than you would to many other styles. I would also recomment Wing Chun . However, nothing will come out of any style if the school/instructor is bad. Good Luck in your search. Wing Chun Kuen Man Real traditional martial arts training is difficult to find.....most dojos in the west are Mcdojos....some are better and some are worst....but they are what they are....do you train in one?
