Shorinryu Sensei Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 I thought "traditional" JJ did not use weapons? Hey bud, get with it will ya! This is the 21st Century now you know. Weapons for all, back flips, splits...it's all good, right? What are you, a traditionalist or something? In case you couldn't tell, I'm kidding around here. My nightly prayer..."Please, just let me win that PowerBall Jackpot just once. I'll prove to you that it won't change me!"
47MartialMan Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 I think its just for tradition, they dont expect ppl to walk around with weapons under their sleeves! According to some, they want a "tradition". I am not saying that it is not needed. I find it stange that JJ uses weapons as I saw one practice with nunchakus. I saw one JJ practicing high kicks. See what i am saying....you relate to JJ as grappling and close quarter. yet these practitoners are using other means. It ok, as long as they just acknowledge that JJ is not the BEST out there when they are using things from other arts. "Its all good"
