JWZ Posted August 15, 2004 Posted August 15, 2004 the last couple of days I have had to lay of round kicks to the heavy bag with my right foot due to sharp pain on the top of my foot. i have been training for about 2 years and kicking the heavy bag all the time. i was wondering if there are any conditioning drills for the foot or if i should just decrease the power of my kicks?
Luckykboxer Posted August 15, 2004 Posted August 15, 2004 i dont think it has anything to do with the power, but the technique, when i was new i hurt the top of my foot often due to hitting the bag wrong. As my technique and form got better I havent hurt the top of my foot in ages... Could be from conditioning i guess, but im pretty sure in my case anyways i was just hitting wrong
xnfx Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 I have hit the top of my foot on elbows before, and it leaves behind some big scarred tissue build ups or something. They seem to take forever to heal, and leave your foot like semi swollen for a long time.
SevenStar Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 It's definitely not a power issue. check your form.
SevenStar Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 Do you train thai kickboxing or american?
