wow. anyone see friday night fights yesterday (8/13/04)? some guy named jc somethingorother, ranked 9 in the world in his weight (154) was to take on some other guy who wasnt allowed to fight because he failed his health exam. just a random spectator, eddie sanchez is approached and asked to fight, so he says yea sure. he drops 8 lbs in a day, is officially told hell fight 7 hrs before the fight. and just for the record, hes still a nobody with no fights going past 8 rounds under his belt, hasnt boxed much since four years ago when he was stabbed. anyway, against jc, number nine in the world for his weight, he won. outboxed him almost every round and took the decision. a great fighter, even though muscular wise he didnt even look in the same class as jc, and record-wise he sure wasnt. it was really cool- anyone else see it?

that almost sounds like Danny Perez.

he was stabbed several times a few years ago.

recovered, trained and recently had his first fight back, but they had called him well in advance... funny thing is thats his weight class as well.

He fights again next weekend against the number 2 contender.

His fight was only on spanish television as far as i know though.

no, this guy was only stabbed once- and his name was definitely eddie sanchez, and he was pretty much a nobody.
