Little Dragon
woah u guys pay that much for belt tests?!?!?! My master only charges around $60 for belt tests, the monthly payment is more than that($90). Only time tests get that expensive is when i hit black belt and up. Englon
Did they have to bring in another instructor for the testing? Sometimes you might have to pay towards that. Some schools have lower monthly rates and higher testing fees. If you like your instructor and school, ask if he will cut you a break when nobody else is around. I'm sure they would work something out for you. I paid alot for my test, but didn't mind because I got many free months when I was in college. "First learn stand, then learn fly. 47MartialMan
The price of the test is the worth of it to the practitoner. It is the same as antiquities.
ditto01
$500 is unreasonable. I moved to a different school because of excessive testing fees. $110 for a black belt (no dan). Then $400 for 1st dan plus you had to buy a new BB uniform at $70. At the new school I paid $175. This included $ 90 KKW Registration $ 25 Embroidered belt and the 8 boards we are required to break. We also had a visiting black belts do our grading. I don't think they are paid, but the instructor usually takes them out to a nice meal. The instructor may have made $20.
