jay46 Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 Therefore it is important you learn one kata very well before you go on to learn the next kata. Don't try to learn all the katas in one week. I also think it is not that important to learn many katas. To me it is more important to learn a few katas well instead of learning many katas a bit. How many is too many? Is one every 6 months or so spread out enough to learn it thoroughly?
cross Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 If you practice them quiet often it may be long enough. But to learn them thoroughly you should know the applications which could take longer to learn. It depends on alot of things like how fast you learn, if you get the feel for the kata quickly etc. But most often your instructor wont teach you a new kata until he/she thinks you are ready for it.
