HeyYouMan Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 I am trying to build a metal pair with a chain. I have so far only used foam and wood with nylon strings, but I would like to try metal and chain for those moves which I am proficient with. Any sites would be helpful. Thanks in advanced. CloudDragon Posted August 14, 2004 Posted August 14, 2004 One word of advice, DON'T, make some wooden ones work with them, and then you might want to buy metal ones. First, to get a good finish you will need access to quite a few power tools and skill in working with metal. Second, if you make the tiniest of flaws in your technique you risk shattering bones. HeyYouMan Posted August 15, 2004 Author Posted August 15, 2004 Any reason for my dad to go buy power tools makes him happy. I am quite profiecient in the use of wooden nanchaku, and am perpared to move forward with the use of metal and chain, or atleast to get a feel for them. I have used wooden nanchaku for almost 3 years now(off & on due to school). Can you suggest any good sites to buy them from? I am a real cheap * but want good quality (a contradiction, I know). I would perfer a place to choose from different sizes beside 8" or 12". My length is 10.5" and perfer something closer to it. Something I can adjust the chain to fit my hand would also be nice, or atleast a pair that does not have just 2" of chain. The incorrect length can really pinch ya as ya get use to em. I am actually quite picky on what I use, thus the whole reason I perfer to create my own. Also, will they even mail them to California, since they are illegal outside a dojo? Please & thanks, Hey You Man Those who can't fight... teach karate (j/k)
