Red J Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 Well we have a category 4 hurricane across the state. Thankfully West Palm Beach is only getting the feeder bands and not the eye. The last reported winds were 145 mph. We are under a tropical storm watch with winds expected under 74 mph. I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.
Red J Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 Our area was just downgraded as the wind is at 30mph, gusts expected to stay under 50. Not a lot of rain, although last night we got pounded for an hour at 3 am. Looks like my area dodged a major bullet. I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.
Chibi Posted August 14, 2004 Posted August 14, 2004 DLopez, it depends which part of Japan. Osaka has very hot weather, as does Kyuushuu and Okinawa, and all places in between. The north is generally cooler.
DLopez Posted August 14, 2004 Posted August 14, 2004 Red J, glad to hear you weren't flooded out either, even if you missed the brunt of the storm. It was amazing how quickly Charley intensified. It looks brutal on all the weather channel reports! All North/South Carolineans now in Charley's path, stay safe! (And enjoy a hurricane party!) unknown Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 i love the hot weather. i dont bother turning on the A/C in my car when i drive on a hot day because it gets so damn cold in the winter in canada i wanna enjoy the heat when it comes.....
monkeygirl Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 This hurricane has been so crazy...everyone I care about has been in its path. My grandmother lives in a trailer park in Daytona and didn't evacuate. C'mon, every time you watch the Weather Channel, what's getting destroyed? Trailers!! But she stayed and somehow got through it. Her house was okay even though houses around hers got totaled. I have family in North Carolina, and a certain someone (you may remember him from the "True Love" thread) and his family were on a cruise to the Bahamas last week. Scary stuff, but I think they're all okay. 1st dan & Asst. Instructor TKD 2000-2003No matter the tune...if you can rock it, rock it hard.
Red J Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Well, now we have Frances on her way. She is a category 4 and projected to hit my area in less than 36 hours. My house is boarded and we are waiting. I hope it turns. I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.
