Rich_2k3
Krav Maga is probably what u thinking of (although its not korean), that is the only art that would have a defense against a rifle. It is a Brutal style and is arguably the best self defence style in the world. Have a look: http://www.krav-maga.net/uk/krav.htm "When my enemy contracts I expand and when he expands I contract" - Bruce Lee
G Money Slick
Perhaps Hapkido? Joint locks can be quite intense. If your enemy refuses to be humbled......you must destroy him.
JESSEK16
Hapkido hands down. It teaches you how to disarm an assailant and is vrey violent . It concentrates on joint locks, joint breaks, pressure points, and submission. If they try to continue the attack after being subdued, you start hyper extending and breaking joints . That is if you don't want to choke them out or make them pass out with a pressure point . Ofcourse none of this is necessary if you talk out the problem as best as you can . The above techniques are used as a last resort, when it is you life or theirs . Those who know when to fight and when not to fight are victorious.-THE ART OF WAR-Sun Tzu
47MartialMan
well, i hate to toot my own horn ( ), but hwarang do can be fairly brutal, and although i haven't gotten to any gun disarming techniques yet, i really wouldn't be surprised to see any later on; that seems like just the thing we would. i've mostly only learned knife disarming techniques, though. Yes, Hwarang came to my mind.....per Korean art.
delta1
Krav Maga ... is the only art that would have a defense against a rifle. SCARS, American Combato, WWII Combatives, ...It is a Brutal style and is arguably the best self defence style in the world. SCARS, American Combato, WWII Combatives, ... These are all quickly learned, effective combat oriented systems. All, from what I've seen, are more effective than Krav- especially against weapons. And that doesn't even get to the more in deapth systems. Sorry, I don't buy their advertiseing hype. I have seen and worked with the SCARS long gun training, and it is both exhaustive and effective. Not that impressed with their empty hands fighting methods, but still better than KM. On the other hand, whatever interests you is best for you. I'd just say that such absolute statements are 'arguable', in every sense of the word. Freedom isn't free!
gcav
>>>>I'd just say that such absolute statements are 'arguable', in every sense of the word. I totally agree with the above statement. And KM is not the only art that has a defense for a rifle. Togakure Ryu Ninjutsu has had rifle defense techniquies for over 100 years. Train like your life depends on it....Because it does. 47MartialMan
I think the post mentioned "Korean". If this is so, it is directed to Korean.
